Begin the conversation

Whether you are a parent considering support for your child, or a school exploring a therapeutic partnership, we welcome your enquiry. All conversations are handled personally and in confidence.

Where to start

Two routes, both come to Sam

For parents & carers

Considering support for your child

If you are weighing up whether therapy is the right step, or want a thoughtful second opinion before deciding, the simplest route is a short conversation. No referral needed. No commitment. We listen first, then suggest what might fit. Parents of children already in therapy with another practitioner are equally welcome.

For schools

Exploring a partnership

If you are a Head, Deputy, Pastoral Lead, or DSL considering bringing KST into your school, for in-school counselling, 11+ group work, or pastoral consultation, we begin with a conversation. We take a small number of partner schools each year and listen carefully before saying yes.

Common questions

Before you reach out

What happens after I send the form?

Sam McManus reads every enquiry personally, usually within the same working day. We follow up by email or arrange a brief call to understand what is prompting support and whether KST is the right fit.

What if KST is not the right fit?

We will say so, clearly, and where we can we will suggest a better-suited specialist within our network. We would rather direct you somewhere helpful than take work that does not belong with us.

Do you work with families whose school is not a current partner?

Yes. Individual therapy at the KST Centre and online, parent consultations, and private 11+ Wellbeing Support Groups are all available to families regardless of school. School-embedded counselling and The Parent Book partnership are commissioned at school level.

Are fees discussed before I commit?

Yes. Fees and arrangements are talked through during the initial conversation, so the right structure can be shaped for your family or your school. There is no obligation at the enquiry stage.

Is the initial call free?

Yes. The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is there to help you decide.
